If you are interested in a custom designed box, please see the link at the bottom of the page.。Our Music Boxes。All of our music boxes are made from premium hardwood, no plywood or pressboard! We do not stain or paint any of our music boxes, but apply several finishing coats of lacquer to show off the natural wood grain.。Choose from 4 different woods (shown in the last picture of the listing): Ambrosia Maple, Mahogany, Cherry, and Walnut. 。Each box is hand made. The box is 8"x4.5"x3". The bottom of the inside of the box is lined with black velvet with a compartment to store your jewelry or other items. 。Overall Dimensions: 8”x4.5”x3”。Jewelry Compartment Dimensions: 4.5”x3.75”x2”。Song Compartment Dimensions: 2.5”x3.75”x2”。Additional Options: Picture Holder (3”x2”)。You can add a picture holder to your music box by going to the link below and adding it to your order!。-Wallet Size Picture Holder on inside of lid。Music:。This music box does not use a traditional music box component, but plays a digital version of your song through an electronic component! All we need is the song title and artist for the song you would like us to use for your box! 。Your electronic song module comes with:。On/Off Switch。Volume Control。Rechargeable Battery (USB Cable for recharging included)。Your song will be saved onto a small computer chip which is installed inside the box along with a small speaker. The song is controlled by an on and off switch and a small photo cell, which enables the song to play. When the music component is turned on and the box is opened, light hits the photocell and starts playing, and the song stops when the box is closed. The song can play as long as 90 seconds, depending on the file size. There is a volume control switch so you can adjust the volume of the song. The electronic component of this music box has a rechargeable battery which comes with a USB plug for recharging. We can also record personal audio into your music box, so if you have a personal recording, we can use that as well! From the drop-down boxes, choose your wood type and if you would like to engrave the top of your box only, or the top and inside lid of your box. The top of your box will be engraved with the design shown in the first photo and your custom text. The inside lid will be engraved with your custom text. 。2. In the Personalization Box, note the text you would like engraved on the top of your box to go with the design. If you chose to engrave both the top and inside lid, please note the text you would like for the inside lid as well. (We do not have a specific limit on number of characters, but keep in mind that the more characters you have, the smaller the font will be.) Also note which style font you would like for your engraving. A list of the font choices is shown in the listing photos. In the Personalization Box, note the name of the song and the artist for the song you would like us to use for your box. We can record up to 1.5 min of the song, so if you have a certain verse or chorus you would like us to use, please note that as well. Then place your order.。Tips for Choosing the Right Wood。~ Detailed Engravings or Engravings with a lot of text: If you’re ordering a box with a detailed engraving, or an engraving with a lot of text, keep in mind that detailed engravings and smaller text shows up better on lighter colored wood (Ambrosia Maple or Cherry).。~Wood color and grain vary from piece to piece, even wood in the same species.。~Walnut wood, although normally darker, can have lighter contrast and the color can vary greatly. 。~Ambrosia Maple wood, also known as Ghost Maple, also has varying color and grain. Although normally light, ambrosia maple wood is known for its dark grain contrasts, adding brown, gray, and bluish highlights to the wood. Ambrosia Maple wood also has worm holes. The worm holes and darker grain highlights come from the Ambrosia Beetle Inhabiting the Tree before it was harvested, hence the name “Ambrosia Maple”.。~Cherry wood and Mahogany wood have the most consistent coloring, although Cherry wood will turn darker over time. 。-We select specific cuts for each music box, but if you have a specific preference, would like a lighter piece of walnut, an ambrosia maple piece with a lot of grain contrast, etc., please note your preference in the “Add Note to MJs4848” box in your cart and we will do our best to pick a piece to your request.。As every box is hand made for every order, please allow adequate time for us to build, engrave, and finish your personalized box.
